Imagine the compelling sound of a big band playing during the cocktail hour at your FUND-RAISING or SOCIAL EVENT! Attendees may dance, or just listen and jive, as our band plays anything from hot swing to waltzes, highlighted by superb vocals by our “torch singer” Rubi Lee, and crooner Andrew Sokol. We are always happy to design our shows around themes or featured guest performers.
For WEDDING RECEPTIONS, picture a big band wearing formal garb, luring people to the dance floor with smooth fox trots, punctuated by favorites like “In the Mood,” “Sway,” and “Fly Me to the Moon.” With our large repertoire, we can play music to suit any mood, from elegance to “jumpin’.”
Swingmasters loves to play for PUBLIC CONCERTS, like those held outdoors in parks throughout the Sacramento area. We have also enjoyed playing for special concerts in the Westminster Presbyterian Church in downtown Sacramento. We plan these shows to feature our fine band soloists and to promote dancing, even in the aisles and on the grass.
Swingmasters has enjoyed playing for the regional BALLROOM DANCE crowd at venues including the Hilton Inn, Carmichael Elks Lodge and Riverside Elks Lodge. Playing for the dance parties held by MIDTOWN STOMP provides some of the highlights of our year. The dancers are young and spirited, stretching the evening out to hours of intense Swing, Lindy Hop and other jumpin’ dance styles. We have a great time playing for these fine dancers, some of whom have won National awards.
